Time Limit: 1 hour to be received in email.
Instructions
1: File - Save as - [Last Name][First Initial]_ARC4058_Quiz_2 . Be certain the JPEG file is saved with this format!
2: Be sure Units is on that the PSD (Photoshop) File is an 11" x 17" with 1" margins.
3: Groups: There are no groups for this quiz. However, the environments + people within each file SHOULD be different.
4: Assignment:
- Insert an environment as your backdrop.
- Draw the object perspective presented in the image (either in CAD or Photoshop) as they are posted on the blog. (If drawn in CAD, save it as a PDF and bring it into Photoshop. I, however, recommend drawing it Photoshop due to time constraints.
- "Reflect" part of your environment on the facade of the drawn object. This reflection is to be blurred as in the image.
- Add at least 3 individuals into the environment.
- Shadows as appropriate for the people + object.
- Partly Desaturate the backdrop, people + object to your liking (NOTE: the object and the Backdrop need to have different levels of saturation. You may also Filter for effects if you have the time. This website has some advice of how to give your image a "vintage feel")
- Make the final product your own!
5: Save to JPEG - Max Quality
6: Submittal: JPEG file shall be submitted to ecalil@fiu.edu before the hour's end
* Note: if you cannot make it to the day of a Quiz, you may make it up the week after. A more difficult drawing will replace the one of the original date and the same time limit will be given during class time. If you know that you cannot make it to class on any particular day, please comment below with the date(s) you will be absent and I will do my best to not have a Quiz on that particular date. Once the date of the Quiz is posted online, it will not change.

Mr. Calil,
I am only asking because I am not from here but if it is at all possible to make up the test on Saturday? My parent will be in the keys this weekend and haven't seen them in awhile and I would drive down with my brother who would take me but if not possible to make up the test I will come to class Saturday.

Assignment3_Questions
Professor Calil, How is this coming out? I'm not sure I understand how to create the reflection. Not sure what to do after "selecting inverse". I am also confused as far as how to "pop out" the mullions in the window.
Thank you!

Assignment 3 question windows
Hello Eduardo,
When creating the windows how to do we do so that the mullions stay on front of the glass? I think that I missed it when you explained that part. Do we create four glass panels with the pen tool ?
Thank you
Catherine

Professor Calil, How does this all look? I am a bit confused as far as the layers. Should we name the elevation (i.e Front, Back, Sides?). Let me know. Thanks!

Sending the cad files?
When sending the cad files, do we do a separate file for the elevations and a separate for the site plan? or we do both in one file?
Problem with elevations scale
when plotting in 1/8 is way too big for the paper. but in 1/16 is too small. I used 3/32. Is that fine?

MartinD_ARC4058_Assignment_2_ELEVATION QUESTIONS
I used the 1/16th scale because I could get the image to fit when using 1/8th scale. Is this ok? Also is there anything else I can do to improve my drawings?
